Thursday (Fake Friday!)

FYI:
*Science Fair Parent Meeting - Tuesday at 6:00 in cafeteria
*No school Friday or Monday

Reading:
We continued with - I can write a prose explaining a poem.  WOW! This poem was SO difficult! But, the kids kept up and did a wonderful job! The kids worked in small groups and each had a teacher leading the group. 
Students also worked on their vocab. words with a logographic cue card
NO HW! Enjoy family time at home!!

Writing:
Students finished up working on their I Am poems (self portrait) using similes and metaphors correctly.  They are looking really good!

Math:
Challenge Group: students continued to work on multiplication and division rules, NO HW
Students worked on double digit multiplication. We need lots of work on this! :) So, we will be continuing it this next week as well! **Ask your child to show you the chant I showed them to remember! :)**

This afternoon we took a break from science/ss and worked on spelling bee words and multiplication.  Students held a practice Spelling Bee.  Our class winners were Malak and Lukas! :)
Students got to use their "Pop-A-Tops" today for multiplication.  Ask your child if he/she got to have a 'pop' or not!! :)  They should be studying these at home nightly! - they are the bottle caps

Have a wonderful few days off from school and reading the blog! :) My little family is off to try out the Zoo and just spend some time together with our new 1 year old!!! :)
