Welcome Back! Hope you all had a great week!
FYI:

No Fluency Folders today - Mrs. Burton had to leave 1/2 day, Harper is sick.
Calendars are coming home TODAY in your child's planner. Things in April and May tend to get a little hectic, so I decided to write down some upcoming events for you on the calendar. This does not mean other things won't pop up, but this is what I know now.
Science: I can explain the 3 states of matter.
Activity: We reviewed what we learned before break. Then students worked on describing how an ice cube can show you the 3 different states of matter. Students did an excellent job on describing this in their journals. Lastly, we worked on a Common Core assignment with the 3 states. Students either worked in small groups with an adult or in pairs. This will become a study guide as well.

Writing: I can type my article.
Activity: Students worked on typing their articles.

Reading: I can understand visuals and how they help my comprehension.
Activity: Today we worked on reading different visuals and how they helped us understand nonfiction reading. Students also used visuals to help their quick writes in Writer's Notebooks.
No HW
Math: I can measure using a ruler and a protractor.
Activity: We did a fun SmartBoard activity to practice measuring using a ruler, then we measured different pictures with paper rulers that we cut out. Then, we practiced more with using a protractor to measure angles. This is tricky, but we're getting better at it every day!!
