Tuesday

FYI:
*Literacy Letter due NEXT Wednesday (Feb. 13)
*Showcase Night/Book Fair Night Wednesday, Feb. 13, 5-7 (more to come on this)
*Valentine's Day Party Feb. 14th, 1:15-2:15 (see paper coming home today, list will be in Wed. folders)

Science LO: I can determine erosion and weathering.
Activity: Today we read and did comprehension activities on these two science terms.  The students then filled out a study guide. The test will be THURSDAY.
HW: study study guide

SS LO: I can name the regions of KY.
Activity: Students will need to know the regions of KY for a quiz on FRIDAY

Fluency/SSR LO: I can use phrasing to help me become a better reader.
Activity: Students worked on phrasing after a mini lesson. Then they read with partners while I completed fluency checks with 6 kids.  Students also responded to literature in their reading response journals.

Writing LO: I can complete an introduction for my narrative.
Activity: Today students worked on making their introductions better!

Reading LO: I can name the events in a story and create a summary.
Activity: We read an excerpt from Because of Winn-Dixie.  Students worked together to create an event list to help write a summary. We will continue with the summary tomorrow.
HW: one page to read aloud TO YOU!! and complete the events question

Math LO: I can answer fraction standards questions in word forms.
Activity: Today we split into leveled groups for different levels of support while we worked on several word problems involving all of our fraction standards we have learned.  Some of these were difficult for the kids. We will be doing this tomorrow as well.
HW: packet - ONLY do #'s 8 and 9 on the first page, we will do the rest together tomorrow
