What a crazy day!! :) I think the kids were hoping for a snow day...or they are ready for Spring Break! Either way, we were a VERY chatty class today!!
FYI:
*If you are able we need: 2 2-liters of caffeine free coke, 1 bucket of vanilla ice cream (for an experiment on Friday)
*Thanks for the Expos!! :)
*Report Cards and RtI Tier 2 updates coming home this WEDNESDAY
**Tomorrow and Wednesday we will have Scrimmage KPrep testing! The kids will be timed and will be taking KPrep-like assessments to help practice for the real test in May. This will be graded and used as a tool to see how we need to prepare the kids!
Science LO: I can predict weather.
Activity: Students took a pretend weather test with the smartboard. Then groups played Weather Jeopardy. We will have our test on THURSDAY over weather. The study guides are the packets we did last week (labeled with study guide on them) and the weather HW from Thursday which was passed back today.
HW: begin practicing for the test
SS: None today
WritingLO: I can peer edit.
Activity: I was so proud of my students. We created as a group a peer editing sheet on what they felt like was important in a writing piece. They did such a great job with this and included everything! Students were placed with another peer to edit each other's pieces. They did this so positively and helped each other. Yay!
No HW
ReadingLO: I can use strategies to help me comprehend on an extended response.
Activity: We split into smaller groups and worked on a KPrep released item and used our RUN RAP strategies to help answer the Extended Response questions. The students worked hard on using terms and details from the text!
MathLO: I can measure in inches.
Activity: Today we worked with a ruler on measuring with inches and to the half inch. Students measured a variety of things and then we went on a measurement scavenger hunt. It was fun! Students took an Exit Slip and almost everyone made a perfect score!
No HW
Circle Group: I can create percents from decimals and fractions. No HW
