Exit/Entrance Slips:After a lesson or concept is taught students will take an Exit Slip to see what they have retained. Sometimes after homework students will take an Entrance Slip before beginning the lesson. This will count as a large part of daily grades for each subject.

Lunch/Birthdays: If you would like to eat lunch with your child, please feel free to meet us in the hallway as we are on our way to lunch. We love Birthdays!! However; it is important to our teaching day and our schedule if birthdays are celebrated during lunch time in the cafeteria. If you would like to bring in something for the entire class to share to celebrate your child’s birthday (cupcakes, cookie cake, etc.) please do so during lunch. Please contact me if you need to know how many total students we have in our class.

Field Trips:We will be going on several educational Field Trips. We usually bring between 2-4 parent volunteers. If you already have your background check…great! If not, please go ahead and do so, so we can enjoy your company!

Folders:Wednesday Folders will come home every Wednesday with information from the school as well as graded Exit/Entrance Slips and class work.

Planners:Planners are VERY important. They must be signed by the parent or guardian every night. However; it is the students’ responsibility to ASK you to sign it. When doing so you will see the Learning Target for each subject as well as if there was any HOMEWORK. HOMEWORK will be indicated by a circle. PLEASE ask your child if they finished the homework and if it is in their folder or backpack to bring back the next day. This is also important as the parent and teacher can communicate through notes on the planner. Students get points for having their planner signed daily.
