Our new schedule began today and it was AWESOME! The morning time went so smoothly. The kids were engaged the entire time and I really felt like I was able to better teach them without things/people moving in and out!! The kids loved it, too!

Science:
I can use many sources to draw conclusions of fossils.
Activity: Today we used our science journals to make a chart with pictures of fossils and made observations about fossils. We also watched an informational youtube video and made notes - it was very cool, the kids were detectives for finding fossils!
HW: none
Literacy:
I can identify a first hand and second hand account.
Activity: Students worked on different stories and comic strips to help see the 2 differences. Then I was an actress for some of the time (haha) and they wrote accounts of what I was doing! So funny! The paper we did in class will be coming home in their red take home folders.
HW: none
Vocab.: this was completed in class
I can identify and begin using correctly frequently used words - homonyms.
Activity: Students practiced with "Mrs. B's Pet Peeves" words and then we used a smartboard activity to practice whole class. Next, the students had manipulatives to put together for homonym words and then tell the meaning of each word.
HW: none
We did not have SS content today.
Math:
I can determine and answer real world problems using multiplication and division.
Activity: Students used their desk tops with Expo markers to investigate a collection of numbers and how to make word problems and receive the correct answers. Students also worked whole class to complete these.
HW: 1 division word problem - #5 on worksheet
Challenge Group: I can determine the answer to a double digit division problem. I can create double digit division word problems.
Activity: Students first took a quiz over this skill.
