Fluency Folder -
Students will be bringing home a Fluency Folder. This is to be completed WEEKLY with YOU!! It should only take about 5 minutes per night. If you want them to read longer than that is YOUR choice! I am sending home a poetry book based on your child's current reading level.  In the folder, it explains what I would like for you to listen to.  Students will be working on this genre ALL WEEK.  You will be filling out ONLY week 1. Please sign under "Lucky Listener" each day. PLEASE make this fun.  Do not get 'down' on your student if you do not think they are reading fluently.  In most cases, I KNOW THIS, and we are working, but your child needs to feel happy and want to share in reading with you. THANK YOU!

Science: Students began a new unit today in science with Miss Kirk - Earth, Sun, Movements.  Students watched a video of Baumgartner and his amazing stunt and then began an activity with shadows.

Reading: We began a new unit on greek mythology. Students delved into the family tree of gods and their roles through a play.  We had such great discussions we did not get to the prefix/suffix words yet!
