Happy Heart Day!! XOXO
FYI:
*Thanks so much for those of you who were able to come last night to Showcase Night! I was so happy to see so many parents. The kids had a great time showing off to you! If you missed it, take a quick look through our "Harriet Tubman Project" which is located on the right side of the blog. Kids did a great job!
*Valentine's Party was so fun today! Thanks!! :) Great to see some of the parents here today!!
*I will be OUT tomorrow. There will not be a blog. If students get all their work completed, they should not have HW.
*We do NOT have school on Monday for President's Day. Enjoy your 3 day weekend with your child!
*HW: Fluency Folders are DUE Tuesday with the book, please!! :)
ScienceLO: I can explain why we have seasons.
Activity: Students read about the seasons and also were able to participate through an online module to show the reasons for seasons. Ask your child! Students also drew models in their science journals.
SSLO: I can describe landforms in the regions of the US.
Activity: Students took the information they read yesterday about one region and were then put into a group with students who learned about different regions. We used our Speaking & Listening standards as we presented our information to the others in our groups.
Reading LO: I can identify the allusion of Pandora's Box.
Activity: Students read a fiction story that had the same allusion within the text as Pandora's box. Students compared and contrasted these two stories. Next, students presented their plays they had read from yesterday around the myth.
No HW
Fluency: Students worked on rate and phrasing in shared pairs and on their own. We had 5 Open Mic kiddos who performed - they did a great job!
Math LO: I can identify decimal place values.
Activity: Math was shortened today because of the Valentine's Day Party! We did review the decimal place value by giving each students a place value or a number and doing a movement game.
No HW
