Tuesday!
*New Fluency Folders:
This week students will focus on Reader's Theatre (scripts) on their reading level. Please have your child read their play to you each night this week! Sign for Week 2 only!! These will be due next Monday!
*Miss Kirk completed her Solo Day today where she taught the kids all day. Next week she will be completing her Solo Week where she will be teaching all week! I will, of course, be in the room all week, too! :)
Science LO: I can explain the phases of the moon.
Activity: Students used a model to describe and see the phases of the moon. Students were asked to write and draw each model in their science journals.
*We will be completing this unit this week and will be testing on Monday!
Writing LO: I can use RUN to answer an extended response.
Activity: We are in Extended Response Boot Camp this week! We are working hard to align our strategies of RUN and RAP to complete better answers for ER's! Today students worked on the RUN method to complete an ER on the Sneetches by Dr. Seuss! :)
**Ask your child is they can tell you what RUN means and if so, write it in the planner for a Pop-Up Lunch!
Reading LO: I can explain the myth "Persephone & Demeter".
Activity: Students read about both characters in a myth. Miss Kirk and the students first read this together and then students read in pairs to depict what makes each character important in every day language we use now.
Math LO: I can place decimals on a number line.
Activity: Students first reviewed fractions and decimals and how they are alike. Next, students received different decimals in tenths and hundredths and placed them on a number line. Students also worked on this skill through different activities in small groups and whole class.
