Science
LO: I can identify weather symbols and their meanings.
Activity: We created a chart where we drew each symbol and explained what it meant, then we looked at a weather map and identified the symbols we just learned about. Finally, we played a game on the SmartBoard where we placed weather symbols on the map where they belonged.
Writing
LO: I can create an outline for an informative writing piece.
Activity: We worked in our table groups to write an outline for a topic. We wrote the outline on posters and shared them with the class.
Reading
LO: I can compare and contrast similar themes, topics, and patterns of events in two stories.
Activity: Today, we read "The Korean Cinderella" and compared it to the traditional story that we read yesterday.
Math
LO: I can add and subtract decimals.
Activity: We played a game where students used a spinner and added the decimals they got. At the end of ten spins, the person with the highest sum won.
*HW: Students have one math problem in their planners!
Tomorrow we will be doing LOTS of fun things to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday!! It is also my last day of my solo week and Mrs. Burton will be absent because she is moving!
