FYI:
*Wednesday Folders day
*I'm looking for an easy recipe the kids can make in class using measurements. This will be for an upcoming lesson in a few weeks. If you have any ideas or recipes you've used with your kids, would you mind sending them my way? Also, if you'd like to help when we get to this, let me know!! Thank you.
*Feb. Book Club is tomorrow 3-330. March Book Club sheets will go home tomorrow as well.
From Miss Kirk...
Science LO: I can explain the difference between weather and climate.
Activity: We watched a video about weather and climate, then we went to the computer lab and did a Web Quest on the same topic.
Writing LO: I can create an outline for an informative piece of writing.
Activity: Today we started thinking about how we would write informative pieces. We brainstormed a list of ideas we would like to write about, then students created an outline about a topic of their choice.
Reading LO: I can compare and contrast similar themes, topics, and patterns of events in two stories.
Activity: We read a traditional Cinderella story, then filled out a chart about the main characters, setting, main events, and theme. Tomorrow, we will read a second Cinderella story and compare the two!
Math LO: I can add and subtract decimals.
Activity: Students learned how to add and subtract decimals, then they practiced with a partner. They caught on quickly and did a great job! After this, we worked through some word problems together.
No HW tonight!
