*Friday is Read Across America Day for Dr. Seuss' Birthday! We will be doing some fun things in honor of Dr. Seuss! If your child has a favorite book by him, please send it in for your child to read!! :)

Science LO: I can read a weather map.
Activity: We watched a short BrainPop video about weather and took notes about things we learned. Then, we did a scavenger hunt using The Weather Channel website and a newspaper weather map to answer questions.
Writing LO: I can explain how an informative article is organized.
Activity: We read an article about Hurricane Sandy and created an outline of the main points in the article.
Reading LO: I can determine the meaning of the phrase "an odyssey".
Activity: We watched a short video about Odysseus and his odyssey, then read the story. Then, we discussed what it meant to have an odyssey, and students wrote their own modern-day version of the story.
HW:*Fluency Folder Reading
Math LO: I can round decimals.
Activity: We learned a new skill today, and it was a little tricky at first, but students caught on quickly! We did some examples on individual white boards, then students played a game in pairs to practice some more.
