Monday!

Hope you all enjoyed your 3 day weekend with the kids!

FYI:
*We are still in need of dimes, please!
*If any parents are available, Mrs. Runyon needs helpers for the Dollars and Sense 4H program.  It is REALLY fun! More info. if you need it. It will be on Friday from 8-9.
*We need Expo markers! We use these a lot with our mini whiteboards! If your child can have one for their zipper pouch that would be so great! I've run out to give!!

**New Fluency Folder Reading

Science: Students finished up their presentations of weather forecasting.
We also read the live Doppler radar while the storms were going on to help us with our predicting of weather!
No HW

SSLO: I can describe a southeast state.
Activity: Students finished up learning about the SE Region as a whole.  Then they began planning their trip to a SE state.  Students are using features with our technology standards to complete this.
HW: study states and capitals - test on FRIDAY, Bee on Thursday

Writing LO: I can draft my expository text.
Activity: Today we worked as a whole class drafting our articles.  We created our intro, sub-heading #1 and paragraph.  Tomorrow we will continue working.
No HW

Reading LO: I can use visual representations to help my comprehension of a text.
Activity: We read an article on the Blizzard of 1949.  This was a great article with many visuals as well as a map questions for kids to practice their states! We split up into 2 small groups and worked on retelling the article and talking about the visuals and how it helped us understand the article better.
HW: finish the Blizzard article and questions
*New Fluency Folder reading

Math LO: I can compare decimals.
Activity: Although we took the decimals test last week - we are not ready to move on.  On the test there were very wordy problems, similar to what they will see on KPrep.  I felt we needed more time to focus on solving these problems, not just knowing the algorithm. :)  So, we worked hard on some sample questions.
HW: students have a small rainbow sheet with 2 problem, please sign

Circle Group: I can divide decimals.
No HW
