FYI:
*Wear GREEN tomorrow! It's our fake St. Patrick's Day!!!
*We are collecting Dimes for March of Dimes! Please help by sending in dimes!!!
*Our schedule was a little off today. We had our technology time with Mrs. Moses on Career Studies! It was neat. So, we had a short reading/fluency/writing time!
Science: Students continued working on their projects. Students will present their projects tomorrow.
SS: The states and capitals test is NEXT Friday!! We practiced studying those a little today.
Reading: We read a fantastic article today on tornadoes. It was such a good piece and we were able to dissect the article into the different standards we are learning. It really helped us learn about expository texts!
Writing: We took what we learned from the reading article and created topic sentences on our graphic organizers for our writing piece - an article. The kids did a great job with this after seeing how the topic sentences tied in so well with the reading article.
Math: Students took their Decimals test. I would be lying if I said it was easy! The new way of testing is SO difficult! Everything is in word problem form. Agh! So, the kids did struggle a little bit. We will be going over the test tomorrow. We will not be moving on just yet. I want to make sure to hit hard on those wordy problems to help with KPrep in the Spring. Again, YUCK! :) hehe But, overall, the kids really know their decimals!! That is the good part.
HW: read your fluency folder reading!
